[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A video is circulating Whatsapp and/or major social media platforms demonstrating a person mixing fructose (from fruits) to blood and reading the blood glucose level from a glucose meter.

Our thoughts to consider:

  1. Addition of fructose has a dilution factor
  2. Using a blood glucose meter does it only measure glucose
  3. USA Soda’s use fructose as the sweetener but why is diabetes & obesity still on the rise? Fructose Syrup?
  4. Some merits are the reference to fruit fructose found in fruits without processing. Fructose in fruits may not behave the same as fructose syrup?

So again for our readers to always consider what they consume on social media, fruits no doubt are healthy our belief is due to the fiber content present it makes sugars present slow releasing.

An old article for food for thought:

Virtually every cell in the body can use glucose for energy. In contrast, only liver cells break down fructose. What happens to fructose inside liver cells is complicated. One of the end products is triglyceride, a form of fat. Uric acid and free radicals are also formed.
