Introduction
Manufacturing is a vital part of the Malaysian economy and it’s important for entrepreneurs to find an OEM factory in Malaysia that will be both competent and competitive. Here are 3 tips that will help you make the right choice! They can help ensure that your manufacturer will be both competent and competitive.
1. Check the premises, media & digital footprint of the Manufactuerer.
This way you can see how professional and well-established your potential oem factory in Malaysia is and what kind of reputation they have.
Speak to people who have used that particular oem factory before. Ask for referrals or do a virtual tour to establish whom they may or currently manufacture for.
Referrals will usually be much smaller brands as larger brands would want this information kept confidential where possible.
2. Check with friends/business friends & ask every question you can think off.
If some of my friends make products and I asked them if they knew of oem factories in Malaysia. They all pointed me to the same oem factory (This would be a very strong indicator the factory is legitimate and able to manufacture your desired product)
An experienced OEM Factory would have faced most questions before, ask everything you want, to how quickly can they deliver your order, to if oem factory has a quality control procedure that should be included as part of your oem factory research. This way you can identify who has the most qualified oem manufacturer that meets your needs.
If their response is satisfactory or impressive to you it will help you build more confidence towards that oem factory
3. Do they work in a structured, clear and transparent method?
The oem factory that you choose should be able to work in a structured, clear and transparent way. The oem factory should also be able to answer all of the questions that you may have about them such as how quickly can they deliver your samples and order.
Some Questions:
What is the process involved to see your product to be manufactured?
What are the challenges for your product?
How long the registration of your product will take?
Any limitations of the product?
Could I have the Rough percentage of ingredients used?
Would like the Full ingredient list
What are the unique selling points?
What to be aware off

What should I do? It is too long?
Plan, Provide a forecast and speak to the manufacturer on which method of planning and arrangement would work best to ensure your products are manufactured and delivered on time.
