Cancellation?<\/a><\/li><li class='ez-toc-page-1 ez-toc-heading-level-2'><a class=\"ez-toc-link ez-toc-heading-8\" href=\"https:\/\/furleybio.com\/blog\/moh-certificate-mal-number-and-cosmetic-not-products-what-how-to-read-them\/#The_Latest_MAL_Products_and_Cosmetic_NOT\" >The Latest MAL Products and Cosmetic NOT<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/nav><\/div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"MOH_Certificate\"><\/span>MOH Certificate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Referring to the Ministry of Health, MOH Certificate in the context of manufacturing could mean the GMP certificate or the product registration. Product registration can be seperated into Cosmetic and &#8220;Medicines&#8221; under the MAL Registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imported medicines must be registered with the Ministry of Health Malaysia before they can be sold or marketed to consumers in Malaysia. Products that are registered are guaranteed in terms of safety, quality, and efficacy. Both registration numbers and Meditag Hologram labels must be on the label or packaging of registered medicines. The National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency uses administrative codes after the product category and the categories of registered product. The administrative code is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;\u2013 Contract Manufactured (the product is manufactured by a GMP certified contract manufacturer)<br><strong>E<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 For Export Only (FEO) (the product is to be sold for export only and not for sale in the local market)<br><strong>R<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 &nbsp;Packed and\/or repacked (the product is packed and\/or repacked by an approved GMP certified packer and\/or repacker)<br><strong>S&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Second source (the product is from a second source\/ approved second manufacturer)<br><strong>Y&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 &nbsp;Orphan products<br><strong>Z&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Products gazetted as zero-rated under the Goods and Services Tax Act&nbsp;2014, Goods and Services Tax (Zero-Rated Supplies) Order 2014.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reference: https:\/\/www.pharmacy.gov.my\/v2\/en\/faq\/how-identify-medicines-are-registered-moh.html<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"KKM_Product_Registration\"><\/span>KKM Product Registration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>KKM meaning Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia Registration means the process of informing or registering with the Ministry of Health about a product such as cosmetic, supplement, traditional, over the counter, drug or Poison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"NOT\"><\/span>NOT<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NOT is an abbreviation for notification which is the registration process for cosmetics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interestingly it does not consititue an actual approval, withdrawals and cancellations can happen without contest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"MAL_Number\"><\/span>MAL Number<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>MAL Numbers are reserved for items which are considered as medicines and usually have medical claims. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The items categories include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Controlled medicines<br><strong>X&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Over the counter medicines (OTC)<br><strong>T&nbsp;<\/strong>\u2013 Natural Products\/ Traditional Medicines<br><strong>N<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Health Supplements<br><strong>H &#8211;&nbsp;<\/strong>Veterinary Products<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>e.g. MAL20201235X<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"NPRA_Product_Search\"><\/span>NPRA Product Search<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main system run by the Malaysian Ministry of Health to search for validity of products in the quest3 system. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/quest3plus.bpfk.gov.my\/pmo2\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/quest3plus.bpfk.gov.my\/pmo2\/index.php\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">here <\/a>to access it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Why\"><\/span>Why<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Registration is required to ensure the products comply with the Laws of Malaysia this includes upto the advertising act, permitted ingredients and ingredient concentrations confirms to the safety guidelines set by the Ministry of Health Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it an Endorsement? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No. In-fact NOT for Cosmetics meaning notification is purely a notification to the Ministry of Health Malaysia about the  cosmetic product and most Cosmetics are  approved prior to withdrawal and\/or cancellation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Withdrawal_Cancellation\"><\/span>Withdrawal?
